Lesson #5: keep your mouth shut!

Hey guys, Harsh back at it again with another lesson and today I'll be explaining how I learned that sometimes its better to say nothing at all. (Also this story may or may not be real if you know what I mean).

After one lovely night on the road I came back home to my family with some great news. I rushed to tell my dad that I was able to hit some really sick drifts in our families toyota camry. I was so proud of my new skill but my dad didn't seem as happy as I was. to put it lightly, he "grounded my ass" for a month.


Ever since that day I realized that if i just don't say anything, the problem simply won't happen. Sometimes, it's best to keep things to yourself. Don't put your life out there for everyone to see.

Lesson #1: How to Properly Lie

 I love driving. Getting your driver's license is, in my opinion, the best thing that a teenager can receive. You no longer have to nag your parents to take you to your friend's house. You no longer have to wait for your parents to drive you to track practice. You no longer have to ask your parents to pick you up at midnight from a friend's house.  Driving as a teen is something else. You're young, wild, and free. You think that nothing can stop you. You hop in the car, set aux, roll the windows down, and go. I don't think about the consequences of speeding down Curtis at night or damaging the longevity of my car through my inefficient braking. Mind you, I'm a good driver. Lesson 6: Slow down life

It's crazy. I'm writing my last blog post. Matter of fact, y'all are also writing your last blog post. As we collectively close the semester off, I would firstly like to congratulate everyone for making it.  It seemed like August was yesterday. Syllabus week, all those practices for sports, after-school activities, Subbie-Buddy events, and Homecoming. So much happened over this semester, yet I can't remember a specific detail about any of it.   I wish I slowed down and looked around. It's a pretty broad and overused lesson and quote that everyone says, but I really mean it this time. I wish I paused and thought about my experiences, whether embarrassing or exciting. Just to look around be present in the moment instead. This semester was valuable. I learned a lot, y'all did too. However, it's not the end.
